The North American Spades Players Association (NASPA) is dedicated to the promotion of the most popular card game in the world, Spades. Players who compete in online spades games, live spades tournaments and special spades events throughout the United States, Canada, the Caribbean Islands and Mexico are eligible to join NASPA. Members of NASPA who win sanctioned live tournaments accumulate points towards a lifetime ratings system. Members also enjoy internet access to their ratings and player statistics, advance notice of sanctioned tournament schedules, and invitations to special "members only" events. Annual awards are given for individual achievements, such as "most tournaments won," "highest winning score" and other categories. As an introductory incentive, NASPA members are offered discounts on registration and entry fees at live spades events hosted by Card Parties Dot Com, free shipping and handling on Card Parties Dot Com merchandise purchased from their web site, and discounts on card game books and software.
